Best Ecommerce Software Solution Rankings June, 2011

We just completed analysis of June 2011 eCommerce survey of the top 1 million Alexa sites on the web and discovered a total of 25,592 online stores. Through the use of special signatures that match for different types of eCommerce software. Our research took into account the country those sites were located in and whether they were using HTML 5. As for HTML5 adoption, only 646 of the 25,592 online stores found were using HTML 5.

Our findings show that Magento continues to reign as the most popular eCommerce platform with 4,705 sites, a 15% increase since February 2011. From a Magento developer’s point of view, of the 4,705 Magento sites found, 274 included indications that they were running on the "premium" Enterprise Edition of the Magento platform. Of Magento’s new hosted solution for small and emerging merchants, Magento GO, we uncovered only 8 stores were found and considering the results so we shouldn’t expect many to appear in the top 1 million.
